Is Amway Corp the first MLMMultilevel Marketing is selling products by using independent distributors and allowing these distributors to build and manage their own sales force by recruiting, motivating, supplying, and training others to sell products. The distributors' compensation includes their own sales and a percentage of the sales of their sales group (downline).? I have often wondered where this type of setup originated.

Either of you tried either of these companies out? The jargon associated with them sounds like pyramid jargon, but I don't know. What do you guys know about them?
