Vehicle Warrenty Scam

Vehicle Warrenty Scam

In our area we have someone calling locally trying to sell people extended warranties on their vehicles. Sometimes they tell you that the warranty is running out and you need to renew and sometime they just say that they want to sell you a warranty if your vehicle has less than 200,000 miles and is less than 10 years old. They get all of the initial payments and then they split. They have been moving from town to town and have been getting some people to bite. I had two calls on my cell phone today that said (recording) "this is your second notice that your warranty on your vehicle is about to expire". Of course, I hang up but I have a prepaid cell phone and they are wasting my minutes-grr! Beware!

Wow! I have been getting all kinds of calls with that exact warning but since my warranty really is running out, I never even thought of it being a scamA confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; . I don't know why I get the stupid calls, anyway, as I am on the do not call registry.

I get these calls too. From a toll free number, like 866-xxx-xxxx or something like that. My vehicle is over 10 years old and I bet there is no way on earth I could get a legit warranty on it. Glad I finally see how this scamA confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; works now. I never stay on the phone long enough to find out how they try and sell their fake warranties.
