Not me (honest) but this happened to a colleague... He went into a busyresturant and a well dressed man asked him if could take his coat, he oblidged and my collegue never saw his coat or his wallet again!
Wow, I cannot imagine how angry I would be if that were me in the situation. Was the person really an employee or just posing as one, and was management informed about the situation?
You know, that is something I have heard about. You assume that when someone asks you this that they are an employee of the place, but lately that has been what scammers are doing as well. Making people think they work in a place when they do not and walk away with items and wallets.
I feel for your friend, thats a dirty trick to pull, I guess with all the high-tech scams online, over the phone etcetera, we forget that we can be tricked in the real world.
I'll have to watch out for this kind of thing, I always keep my wallet in my jeans though, but I'll be watching to see who tries to make off with my coat.
