Tell Them to Get a Job

Tell Them to Get a Job

I hear a lot of women complaining about having to support their boyfriends. The woman pays all the bills, sometimes take on loans or creditMoney loaned or the ability of an individual or company to borrow money. cards for these guys, and very often, the guy splits when he finds someone with more money. Tell the guy to get a job or get out, and do not support him!

How totally true! It is so sad to see women busting their butt's to support a lay about boyfriend who just wants to be kept. Time to turf them out and make them work!

Totally agree with you there hunny its always their own fault for putting up with it!

My downstairs neighbor (who is the landlord's son) does this. He moved in with a nice girl who was in college, and she paid all the bills. She paid rent, heating fuel, electric, they took her car everywhere. He didn't even have a job when they moved in and for about 6 months. She also bought him an ATV, which he sold after they broke up to buy a newer car. I don't know who in their right mind would support someone who doesn't do crap. I mean he doesn't even clean the house or take the trash to the dump. She did everything. Its sick.

How women who are reasonably bright, educated, and aware fall for this trap over and over is beyond me! My best friend got scammed by a man that everybody told her was nothing but a bum, but she wouldn't believe us! He left her (with her Martin Guitar that was worth at least $1000) and told her he'd be back to get her soon. Of course he never came back; but unbelievably she still wonders why he never came back!

As the saying goes love is blind!
And when you fall madly on love with someone you cannot see their faults and thats why i always listen to my friends for realtionship advice as i know only to well that i carnt see what they can!
I mean ovbiously I dont let them rule all my relationships but Its nice to have their heads up about a guy It makes me feel that little more secure!

I think part of it is the women fall in love with these men. They don't think they're giving the guy a free ride, they think they are helping out their boyfriend in his moment of need and that he will get a job soon and pay her pay. She doesn't realize she's just a meal ticket until he leaves (and even then they don't always want to believe it!).

I don't have time for co-dependent people in my life, and anyone I see dating someone like this I am the first to open my mouth about it. Right now its hard enough to support just yourself with the way the economy is going, who in their right mind could take on supporting someone with no thought whatsoever to grow up and take care of their self!

I think that's probably the main thing that women should see as a red flag: the guy isn't working, is between jobs, is working on a "business deal" that will come through any day...any excuse to explain why they are not working! Good men don't want to rely on a woman, especially a woman they have just met and "fallen in love with!"

You do realize of course that not everyone is jobless by choice, right?

To find a job, especially one that pays well enough is not always the easiest thing to do.

People cannot just snap their freaking fingers and go "OK, I GOTZ TEH JOB NOW!"

But people should be at least making the effort to find work.

For those who are jobless by choice, THEY are the ones that really need to "get a job"

I have to admit that I fell for this in my first marriage. I was young and had very low self-esteem. He started out with a job but when he lost it, he took his time looking for another. A string of jobs followed, each space between getting longer and longer. I didn't love him and wasn't blind to the situation, I just didn't want my marriage to fail. Finally realized it was a failure already and got out. (There were other issues too.)
