Are they all the crack up to be? Right now I have been hounded by tons of them in the postal mail and I have no idea where they got my address from. I love the idea of extra insurance but is it worth it? Reading some of these it doesn't look to be the case.
I don't know if secondary insurance is the same as supplemental insurance, but supplemental insurance is very high for what you get. And your primary insurance has to be maxed out first before the supplemental insurance kicks in. The duck on TV is a very expensive duck and his insurance is supplemental insurance.
I like some of the Aflac programs when they are offered through your employer. I used to have the accident insurance at no cost through a previous job and it was terrific. If you have to pay for it yourself, it may not be worth what you get, though.
Well, I had AFLAC from a previous employer and it was horrible. I had an insurance that would pay you so much per day if you were in the cardiac stepdown unit. I worked at the hospital at the time and it just so happened that my wife had a heart attack and had to stay in the "acute medical unit" which was our cardiac stepdown unit. I had to do hoop after hoop to get them to pay us and finally, about 6 months past the incident and many, many forms later, they paid us. They were trying to tell us that our hospital's unit wasn't a cardiac stepdown unit even though they sold the policy to us at that hospital. What a duck-I wish I could wring it's neck!
Supplemental insurance is a huge ripoff if you ask me. I paid a buttload of money for my supplemental insurance and it only kicks in AFTER your main insurance is completed paying whatever they are going to pay. They pay very little compared to how much you pay in premiums.
Secondary or supplementary insurance plans should not even be considered if you have adequate coverage through your primary insurance provider. If you need it you have to know exactly what you are getting especially under what circumstances you will get benefits. It is just too easy to get ripped off.

I'm very ignorant when it comes to insurances. It's surprising the Duck is not all that it's made up be. It seems like a wise choice but I guess not.
