Pet Insurance
Does anyone have pet insurance for their pets' health? I have actually considered it. The cost of going to the vet is sooooooo expensive that ordinary people like myself sometimes find it hard to afford.
So, do you have pet insurance? With who? How much does it cost? Or, why don't you have the insurance?

I do not have it but I have thought about it. My poor uncle really does need it though. He lives on a farm and needless to say, the dog was kicked in the head by the goat and it ended up costing him over 3k to get the poor pooch fixed up again.
Wow,3k. I was complaining about spending $400 on my cat. I'm not sure any animal would be worth a $3k vet bill, unless it was making money somehow.
I have heard that you can get Pet Insurance through Kroger Personal Finance. Just google Kroger Pet Insurance and it will give you the link to their fee chart. I am not sure it is worth the bother though. Your premiums range from $15 a month to $30 a month per cat or dog. They also have rates for 2 pet families and 3 pet families. The plan does cover vaccinations and routine visits as well as accidents or illnesses. However, there is a co-pay involved and a per incident fee depending on what is wrong. You also pay up front and they will reimburse you.
I used to think this was a gimmick but I know someone who is going through cancer treatment for their dog. They have huge bills and they're still mounting but it looks like the dog will make it. If your pet is a member of the family, then I think this is a good idea.
I am amazed at the amount of money people spend on their pets. Dogs, cats, and other animals are really considered part of the family and people are now getting insurance on them! Amazing, but I guess that's the way the world is going.
