Have any of you gotten scammed with a pay day loan. I know a friend who paid on time and is still getting charged after the loan was paid off, it's like they keep withdrawing money from her bank account.
If it is paid off, it could just be a glitch in the computer system. She needs to talk to the company and her bank to let them know what's going on. The permission to take automatic debits from her account can be canceled through the bank if the company will not cooperate in fixing this issue.
I know most come with some very steep interest rates but I have never known of ones that still charge after its been paid off. I do know others companies tend to do this sometimes like ISP's.
Once could me considered a glitch but if the situation is repeating itself even after bringing it to their attention, the person needs to take more siignificant action, including informing the bank.
Payday loans should be the absolute last option in your quest to borrow money. As others have said, interest rates are sky-high and sometimes, you never get it paid off. I once made the mistake of getting a payday loan. Unless you make over $1000 a week, it's going to be hard to pay it back. That was my problem, so the establishment let me pay "just the interest on the loan," which wound up being $70 per week on $400. Eventually I was able to pay it off.
