Mealy Worm Scam

Mealy Worm Scam

A man shows up to clean your gutters for a small fee. He may present a bag full of mealy worms, claim that the worms are consuming the wood in your attic, then recommend that you allow him and his crew to spray the attic. The worms, commonly used to feed certain small pets, were purchased at a pet store that morning. The "spray" used by the crew is a concoction of water, kerosene and other smelly substances. Usual charge: $1000 to $3000.
