McDonalds Sells Stale Apple Pies
I bought 2 apple pies and a large sweet tea (no lemon) off the McDonalds Dollar Menu. Well, I bit into one of my apple pies and it tasted terrible! I chewed and chewed and chewed and chewed my lukewarm apple pie until I couldn't take any more. I am looking at the pie wondering what in the world could be the problem.
Well, I notice the freshness date on the apple pie is over 2 hours in the past! Take a look at my receipt. It shows 10:58am while the pies are good for use until 8:38am! What a freaking ripoff! A dollar wasted and disappointed tastebuds! I had already pulled onto the highway so no way I was going to take the pies back and waste even more in gas than what the pies cost.
Be careful when you get food from these fast food places! Your food could be old!

Now that is nasty McDonalds! Can the people there not read or tell time? Can you say YUCK!!!
McDonald's is really good about making sure foods aren't expired.
I personally worked at McDonald's, and I know you're just over exaggerating because it's a "best by" date, not expiration. This means that they just don't want it to go out to the customers after that exact time. It is actually still good to eat, even after a day.
And when the food IS past that exact minute, they don't throw it out until a manager has tallied it, so an employee must not have realized there's a separate pile from food that needs to be discarded and food that is fresh.
Either way, sorry that happened to you. You should have just returned it. They would have given you a free meal, lol.
McDonalds, and all fast food joints in general are usually pretty good. I'm glad bigmac pointed out this McDonalds though. Others in his area may want to shy away from this particular McDonalds since they are not very good at reading the date and time on the food they are serving.
I have noticed that more and more fast food joints are hiring people who do not speak very good English. I imagine this is the main reason orders are screwed up.

I bought a sandwich today that was stale! I got a McChicken sandwich and the bread was the oldest, rubberiest bread ever! It is almost better never to buy off of their lunch menu right after breakfast. Seems as if they begin using the previous night's leftovers to serve the first of the lunch crowd. I have learned my lesson!
I love McDonald's but they GOT me today ... $5 wasted.
McDonald's Apple Pies are usually very good. I have been getting them lateley all busted up with the apples and sauce oozing out of them. They are stuck to the box and taste old. The time and date are ok on the packages, but they are exploding while they are being cooked. Why do they serve exploded apple pies?
Apple pies from McDonald's are usually pretty good. They bake them now instead of frying them. I miss those greasy fried apple pies with the crust that crumbled in your hands and mouth. The baked ones are a little bit healthier though.
I have purchased a few apple pies from McDonald's and the pies are busted with the apples and apple juice outside the pie stuck to the box. I am going to start taking the back for exchange or getting a refund if the oven can't bake any better. I usually throw them away since it's only a buck, but that is a buck wasted!
I purchased two apple pies for a dollar yesterday and both of them were busted with apple juice stuck to the inside of the box. Why does McDonald's keep selling these busted apple pies? Can't they see that they are busted before they go in the boxes?
I can't believe this! I purchased two apple pies for desert and both of them were busted already. I'm sure they see the pies are busted with apples and sauce dripping out of them before they put them in the boxes! $1 wasted and tastebuds cheated!
Crap! Purchased 2 apple pies today and both of them were stuck to the box! Glued to the box by old, dried up apple sauce! Guess they didn't want to really be at work on Mother's Day but that is still not an excuse for serving apple pies that exploded during the baking process!
I am seeing this more and more at McDonald's. The people at the registers hand out the apple pies without even looking at the times they have stamped on them. Including the time on the pies is an excellent idea. Now McDonald's has to find people who will actually read the times before handing out their baked apple pies!
