McDonald's Old Fries
I saw the thread regarding McD's stale fries, so I got to thinking about how much I hate it when they give me old fries. I like my fries fresh and hot and not burnt. I don't feel this is asking too much. It really makes a difference to me in the quality of taste they produce. Unless, I specifically ask them for fresh fries; I get cold wrinkled fries. Eeew.

Yeah, that's horrible. Usually though, if you ask for the manager and complain to them they will give you a rain check or a comp of some kind. I know I went through the drive through at our local McD's and ordered two cheeseburgers from the dollar menu and they gave us two chicken sandwiches which I didn't realize until I was down the road. We went back when we got back to town and they comped us two cheeseburgers and apologized. Very nice.
Oh yeah, I've had that happen to me before. Order something from the drive-through and they give you something completely opposite. That's why now, I don't leave the window until I go through the bags and check my order and make sure my fries are hot and fresh. I don't care if there are 20 cars behind me. If it's not right, or if my fries aren't hot and fresh, I'll send them back.
I give my hard-earned money for decent food and I'm going to get decent food if I have to raise a ruckus.
Best to go during lunch when it's busy so you get hot, fresh fries. I like mine a little crispy while my friend likes them hot and soft. We never get fries where both of us are satisfied.
I am usually in a hurry, when I go through the drive thru. I don't have time or feel like running back in the store to go through the whole ordeal. But, you're right. I should check them in the drive-thru and if they aren't right, make them redo it. Of course, they will make me pull up and then forget about me.
That is disgusting! That happens to me regularly! I can see now how those companies make a lot of money, when recycling old fries and being so stingy!
I went to a local fast food place the other day and ordered fries. They tasted like car oil. That is what I get for ordering greasy french fries. It was so bad that my mouth had an aftertaste for hours afterward. I think I have sworn off fast food fries. That is a good thing.
hullo, I have had the same experience. I haven't actually tasted car oil, but I have smelled it and that was enough. Of course, I am sure you haven't either. But, I know exactly what you mean. I love McDonald's fries when they are fresh and hot. But, when I get that oiled taste, it is hard to get it out.
