Magazines

While I was in the hospital, apparently my husband ordered an expensive three year subscription to a magazine service. I was very surprised when I came home and started receiving these weird magazines in the mail. When I asked him about it, he denied he had ordered them. We both called them and never got anywhere with them. We ended up having to pay for them and our only recourse was just to exchange them for some decent ones. We just hated paying for something we didn't order. Of course, he may have ordered them without knowing it. It was at a time when he thought I was dying. He was home with three kids, poor guy. I'm sure he could have been distracted when taking the call in the first place. But, they didn't care. They got their order.

I hate those magazine subscriptions. They will trick you also when they send those notices in the mail for a free trial. If you ever receive a magazine, best believe you are now subscribed to it! I bet it is written in their tricky terms of service ... but I can never seem to find the terms of service to read exactly where the trick is. This should be illegal!

No offense here but if your husband purchased them he should have been paying for them. If it is not what he ordered that is different but most times when you order things like this, they record (with permission) the sale to make sure everyone is on the up and up.

We don't read magazine here at all. I have tried telling these people, that we don't want them. But, they are very persistent. We have made it a policy not to answer the phone anymore unless we know who it is. Thank goodness for caller id.

I think I have ordered 1 magazine in my life and it was many moons ago and I think if I am not mistaken, under my mothers name not mine (I don't think I was 18 yet), now it seems I get magazines in the mail to people that lived at my home before me and even after contacting to tell them the person has not lived here in 5+ years they still mail them out. I don't get it.
