Internet Spamming
Has anyone ever been taken in by extremely convincing internet spam? I have clicked through almost to completion once or twice by ones that look completely accurate but now I'm afraid I'm far too cynical and may delete something I could actually use one day.
Do you have any stories to share about spam and getting had?

They don't really trick me. Some of them look like the real thing (Bank of America) while others are very fake (PayPal phishingThe act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information.). One phisher had a very nice Wells Fargo email and it looked authentic! I haven't clicked on any and gotten got yet. Hope it never happens to me!

And the email said $5, not FREE so I thought it was legit. I clicked on the ad to retrieve the coupon and kaboom! I started receiving hundreds of spam mails each day. They have started dying down since I haven't clicked on any more bogus emails. I have to really give the Dow guy props because he used $5 off instead of Free in the wording of the fake ad. Pure genius!
What makes it even worse is I finally bought the Dow Automatic Shower Cleaner and it totally sucked! The motor is loud and it can't clean the entire shower!

Go to the projecthoneypot.org and report them! This is the site that makes and shares spammer blacklists. After the spammer is listed there it won't be long after that and you'll stop receiving his messages :D I know that police is using those blacklists regularly.
