I just had an inquiry

I once called my previous home insurance company to ask a question about a possible claim. I never put one through. When I bought my house, they would not insure me because I called an inquired about a possible claim. Can you imagine?

You probably should contact someone higher up in the company as that sounds just ridiculous. Sounds like an overzealous employee to me. Did you end up getting insured by a different company?

Homeowner's insurance and claims are crazy. I asked about filing a claim once and got blacklisted. I never even filed the claim, just asked what would happen if I did. I paid for the damage myself and never asked the insurance company to pay a dime. Now I can't get a lower quote from any other company because my current company blacklisted me!

It one thing to be blacklisted for an actual claim but getting blacklisted for making an honest inquiry is a little over the top. I would try to speak to someone higher up the chain of command but also I would make a complaint with the insurance company that did the dirty deed. Might not get much mileage out of that but at least I would feel like I was fighting.

You could bring a complaint against them to the insurance commissioner of your state. First though, I would contact someone higher up in the company and give them another chance. But if you do not get satisfaction from them, contact the insurance commissioner and see what they can do. Good luck.

I think that is just about stupid. There is no way around asking questions, so I take it this place has a pre-sales dept. but once you have used them, they don't want your money? Idiots.....

I have learned my lesson never to call the 1-800 # of an insurance company. I wait to speak with my personal insurance agent from now on when I have any questions. I think it is so sad when honest people have things like that happen.

I have learned my lesson. I never call for insurance. Just buy the minimum you can afford and hope nothing happens. Save up enough money to cover anything that can happen and hope for the best! Insurance companies are ripoffs and then they still get in financial trouble like AIG! Sucks ... the entire industry sucks.

This is unbelievable. We are paying way to much for insurance, just to be blacklisted for inquiring into our benefits. What ever happened to customer service and the customer is always right policy. What happens when you can't get new insurance?
