I feel your pain. I recently also bought a surround sound system by JBL and it turned out to not be that worth it. The sound quality is not that great and one of the speakers even blew out. Waste of $900+! Very disappointing most electronics are not made with quality materials either. The plastics on the speakers would scratch and snap at some points. Worse of all, the store will only give me 85% of my money back since it is open. The other speaker got replaced though under warranty.

You are lucky to get at least that 85% back, but the store where I bought my sorround from does not give a cent back, it is not that expensive, only 200$ but still it is my money and i want to get everything out of it. I guess we should be more carefull when choosing to buy anything.

Where you able to exchange it for a new system or get your money back? Or is it a new return type deal?

You can never assume that just because a previous product with the same name was great that the next one will be as good. There are reasons why some items are lowered priced than others and one of them is the quality of sound and so on. I think that there are some brands that you can always count on when it comes to stereo equipment and that you should listen to the system before you buy it. Do not hesitate to take it back if you can when it is lower than your expectations.

This is why I normally buy the extended warranty. It normally gives you a longer option for getting your money back if the product ends up sucking through no fault of your own. But yeah, year to year and item to item you can get a good product or a sucky one. Its just how electronics are.

I.Sound DGUN series of MP3/iPod/Laptop speaker are horrible! The size of the speaker systems is great. They are small, compact, and lightweight. However, the sound is absolutely terrible at best. The price is steep for the quality you receive in return. The sound is muffled and the speakers begin to rattle after only a few months of use! Save your money. Maybe next year's lineup will be better.
