HP 4250 Prints Envelopes Slowly
My office contacted HP regarding a replacement for our HP 5Si and told them we print a large number of envelopes. We told them we needed a comparable machine to the 5Si and they recommended the HP 4250.
Well, the printer advertises 45ppm printing speed which it can do when printing regular plain paper. However, when we print envelopes, the darn thing prints at about 3ppm! If your shop prints a large number of envelopes, stay away from the HP 4250 and HP 4350 as they are big money with little return. They are great for letters, but so are less expensive black and white printers.

This printer is getting on our last nerves in our office. You have never seen such an expensive machine operate so slowly! It has to think for 10-15 seconds between each envelope it prints! And we have this expensive envelope feeder specially made just for the purpose of printing envelopes. Great printer, but not for printing envelopes!
