Insurance company that was providing my coverage was not covering me for what I thought I was getting. Our house was originally a mobile home. It was put on a full concrete basement and a large living room was added. The whole thing was given a proper roof and all. It is a nice small house. It was a little difficult to find insurance but once we did I thought we were okay until we went over what my coverage really was. Basically all I was covered for was for the insurance company to find an old 1974 mobile home and dump it on my property in the event my house burned down. I can get a piece of crap like that for less than what I'm paying annually for the insurance. We sure could not live in a piece of garbage like that. I discovered that most of the insurance companies in the area would not offer me anything better. Finally because there is a decent piece of property with it and I had built several small out buildings I was able to get rated as a hobby farm and finally get adequate coverage. What a convoluted pain in the butt.

Wow, these insurance companies are very funny. You have to read their materials carefully. My insurance company covered my house very well, but I could not have a gun. I couldn't have a trampoline. I couldn't have a swimming pool. There was a laundry list of things I could not have at my house in order for them to cover me. AND, they sent people out on a regular basis to make sure I didn't have any of these forbidden items at the house.

Excuse me. They sure have a lot of gall. I really don't think they have the right to invade your privacy, by making continued in home assessments. I believe I would call the insurance commissioner on that one and report them. They would be able to tell you for sure if this was legal. Surely, you have rights.
