Go Back To Western Union

As a "reload" to many of the scams listed above, the caller will claim that your money was never received, that you need to send another payment, and that Western Union or MoneyGram (depending on which wire service you used) will issue a refund for the first wire transmission attempt once the caller sends you a letter. A variation of this involves a follow-up call in which the scammer, who picked up your money the day before, claims, "The prize we asked you to the pay taxes on yesterday was a second place prize, but we now realize that you came in first place! Please send us a second wire payment in the same amount as yesterday to cover the taxes on the much larger sweepstakes award."

I wish I knew how to stop the "come back" calls I get from places that I have never used, its like they do not even believe me when I say I have never used their company before!!

Well really, this is one thing that people should be a bit more wise to. This isn't a hard one to see through-once you've sent the money, unless it arrives back in your account there is no reason to think that it didn't arrive.

Many of these scams are not too hard to see through but we listen to these people way too long after we have already said 'NO" several times.

.

I have never even heard of this one. How long has this been going on for now? I always thought somehow these places could protect themselves better.

I have seen this one a couple of times. The best thing to do is to say, no thanks and I have to go now, just don't entertain them.

As long as the original person keeps sending money, there is nothing Western Union will do to try to "protect" themselves. They are getting a cut off the original (honest) person's money they are sending. The person at the other end is still claiming the money, probably in a foreign country or at a counter where they split the money with the attendant. The only person losing money is the original, honest person sending all the money.
