Funniest Separation Story

Funniest Separation Story

I have a good friend who after many years of marriage separated from his wife. They both got lawyers and explained to the lawyers they wanted a quiet divorce and they had already agreed between the two of them how everything was to be divided up. His lawyer told him not to talk to his wife and that he was going to have to protect himself and basically fight tooth and nail. After a few sessions with the lawyer he decided he trusted his wife more than the lawyer and fired the idiot. Went to talk to his wife about what was happening and found out her lawyer was doing the same thing with her. She fired her lawyer as well. This situation reopened the lines of communication between the two of them. They got back together and have been happily married ever since. His feeling was that the lawyers didn't give a damn about him and his wife. All they were interested in was the money.

My friends went through the same thing but were not smart enough to fire their lawyers! Now they hate each other and are acting really silly about the entire situation. They have kids and the poor kids are now going to have to deal with parents who can't stand the sight of each other and are on the brink of physically harming each other!

Thanks Freddie for sharing that story with us. It is nice to hear a happy ending now and then. Unfortunately, it is so true about a lot of lawyers. They are willing to do anything for the almighty dollar.

I love to see when Ex's can get along together amicably. It is so important for the emotional health of everyone concerned. Sometimes, it's better for the kids if the parents can actually get along better apart than fighting together.

Most times they never do, unless of course there is a big price tag for the case. I think that is just how it is. For me personally those lawyers who deal with child custody cases atop the divorce tend to be a little more sympathetic.
