Deposits Because of Credit Rating
This topic is not so much of a scamA confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; as an annoyance but I wanted to hear other people's thoughts on it.
I'm in my last year of university and only got a creditMoney loaned or the ability of an individual or company to borrow money. card a short while ago, being very responsible with it. When I went to sign up for a cell phone I had to leave a $200 deposit apparently because my credit rating was nonexistent. Has this sort of thing happened to anyone else?

Yep. Happened to me but I had to leave a $500 deposit! For a freaking cell phone! Stay away from Cingular if you don't have creditMoney loaned or the ability of an individual or company to borrow money..
Yeah, no kidding. We just refinance our house, which has brought our score down a bit. We went in to get a family plan and cell phones for us and the kids. Att/Cingular wanted a deposit for each phone. Oh, they said they would give it back after a year, but I wasn't going to take the chance.
