Carolina Copier in Raleigh, NC
This company is a total ripoff and has some scandalous ways of making money off customers.
First, my company has an HP Color Laserjet printer which had light streaks. I was put in charge of finding a company to fix it. Well, I called Carolina Copier with a Greensboro, NC phone number and Carolina Copier said someone would come out the next day to look at the machine. Well, a week later, the technician shows up and can't fix the problem on-site so he has to take it back to the shop ... the shop in RALEIGH! Why have a local Greensboro number if the machine has to go back to Raleigh to be fixed?
Ok, so they take the machine with light streaks back to Raleigh. They bring the damn thing back with error codes and it won't print at all! Not only does the thing not print, but they charged my company for the original service call AND 2 hours of labor for a machine they broke worse once they took it!
The technicians refuse to talk to you but insist you call the office and talk to Rick. This Rick guy is the rudest, most incoherent person you will ever want to talk to. He sounds like he knows about printers but he knows nothing about dealing with customers and customer issues. If you can find someone else to look at your machines, you should and stay away from Carolina Copier. Complaining to the BBB does no good because Carolina Copier isn't a member and I see why!

These guys got me the exact same way from Charlotte, NC. A simple grinding noise in my HP and they had to take the machine all the way to Raleigh for repair. I got a bill for 2 hours of labor on top of the original service call where the tech showed up for 10 minutes and said he needed to take the machine back to the shop. This Rick character said he had to oil the rail so the print cartridges could slide from side to side easier. I got a repair bill for over $300 for a darn inkjet printer! They don't even call you before they make the repairs and their entire setup is very misleading! Make them give you a concrete estimate before you let them take your machine!
Carolina Copier cheated my company when we got them to come service our wide format printer/plotter. The technician shows up out of the blue after I had a conversation with you know who ... Rick! We had a great conversation at first and I told him I would call him back when we were ready to move forward. Well, the technician shows up and puts some parts on the machine and leaves us a bill for 1.5 hours of labor, $250 in parts, and oh yeah, the machine still did not work. So he asks if he can take the machine back to Raleigh (2 hours away!) and repair it in the shop. He promised someone from the office would call before any repairs were made.
We get another tech who brings the machine back with another 2.5 hours of labor and another $100 in parts!!! WTF? The machine was so old there was no way we wanted to put that much money into it. Carolina Copier has some dirty tricks up their sleeves. Once they take your machine back to their shop in Raleigh, the crooks start working on it. The technicians who come out initially appear to be honest fellows. It's those crooks they have in their shop in Raleigh who will rob you blind!
I have always suspected companies did this type of crap! I think auto mechanics do the same type of mess if you leave your car with them. You have to stand over these guys when they are repairing your equipment. I hate that everybody is out to make a buck ... even if making the buck involves cheating people!
Wow, I am not surprised to see these complaints against Carolina Copier. They are the only service company we have ever called who charged us for each and every minute they were here working on our machine. The technician had to keep making phone calls while he worked on the machine and he admitted he could fix it, but he had the wrong parts. The people back in Raleigh had given him parts to fix a different problem on our machine ... only problem, we did not have that problem! The people in the office must have given him a hard time because he looked miserable as he sat there with the phone to his ear and the person in the shop grinding his ear off. I felt sorry for him ... UNTIL we got the bill from Carolina Copier! They charged us for the technician's first trip to diagnose the problem. They charged us another hour of labor because they sent the technician with the wrong part! Then another hour of labor was added when the technician came back the third time to install the correct part! Needless to say we will never use Carolina Copier again!
I took my all in one machine to these guys in Charlotte, NC. The technician was very nice. He said he had would have to keep the machine to find out what was wrong with it as it was jamming badly. He said someone would contact me the next day to let me know what was wrong with the machine. I stressed to him how valuable the machine was to my business.
Two days later, no call yet from Carolina Copier. So I rode by the location where I dropped my machine off but the office was closed and locked. I called Carolina Copier only to find out my machine was taken to Raleigh, over 2 hours away! Even worse, no one had even looked at the machine since the technician took it to Raleigh. They said they would immediately diagnose the machine and call me back. I didn't get a call back until the next day!
The bill to get it fixed was hundreds of dollars so I said forget it and just bring my machine back to Charlotte. I will never call these guys again for any printer or copier service.
