Business Scams
I recently went to a seminar offering a business. There were suppose to be several opportunities to connect with actual business coops that were to help you start a business relationship with other business so you can get your business going smoothly. Well I paid the $2550 fee and there was nothing there but a few people talking about one plan to make money. I was very disappointed and confused at the same time.
When I asked for a refund they told me that I have gotten the information from the companies that can coop with me (which as a book explaining how to find these types of companies) they said there was nothing false in their advertising and that they would not refund my money since I attended the seminar.
Do you think I should fight this further ? This was a lot of money for me.

That's terrible. Write down everything that people said, and do it now. Then go to the consumer affairs department in the state that this took place. You could also see if some no fee lawyer is interested.
No offense, but I would have done a lot of research on the company I was dealing with before I would have handed over $2500.00 to them. I hope you can get a refund, but frankly if I were you I would not hold my breath. You may have to call this an expensive lesson learned.
Some very good advice has been given here on this one. I would do as some of the others here have said. There are so many scamA confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; companies out there and vulnerable people that simply just fall for it. That includes people with seminar type deals as well, not just on the internet.
Yes you should fight against this as they have done advertisement by saying they would help in starting business. They would have advertise by saying that we will give you information regarding starting of business.
