Bluetooth Hack

Its always really important to make sure your bluetooth is disabled unless you require it, here is why

A scammer takes control of your phone and makes it dial a premium rate number he is collecting the profit from.
You could be £1.50 a minute out of pocket until your phone runs out of battery!
A scammerhanging about in a public place like a train station can connect to, and take control of, up to 50 phones an hour.

That is a pretty sophisticated spam. Fortunately, mine always runs out of battery when I'm not using it, so I don't really have to worry about it. I would be so mad though, if somebody charged me all that money for calls I did not make!

Very good information to know. The same type of access can happen to a laptop that is connected to WIFI in a public place, because they both work on the same type of technology. So yes, I agree you have to make sure that you are protected in either case.
