Bitten By The Doc
My husband went to A Wellness Center because he was having a lot of pain in his arm. We figured it was his bursitis acting up. While there they did a lot of test and determined it wasn't really his arm that was the problem. He had a pinched nerve in his neck that was making his arm hurt. They had him coming in three times a week for treatment. This place was loaded with chiropractors, family doctors, physical therapist and even a neurologist. Well, we started receiving bills for co-pays left over from the insurance payment. So, I took the bill in and asked them about it. They told us not to worry about it. They would just write off any co-pays that the insurance didn't cover. Now, that his treatment is finished we are getting $500 bills from them every month. Obviously, we will have to pay it to keep it off our creditMoney loaned or the ability of an individual or company to borrow money.. But, I am definitely not happy about it.

I have often heard that chiropractors themselves were trained to take advantage of us. Now of course, I am sure that is not true of all of them. But, many of them do seem to keep you coming back again and again until the insurance runs out.
Once you start with the doctor bills, you'll never get out from under them. They will find so many more things that they will have to charge you for that they "forgot" to put on the last bill. I heard that the majority of people in the US that file bankruptcy, do so because of medical bills. Sort of tells you something doesn't it.
Oh yes, the high inflation of medical bills. It is unbelievable what they charge for a Tylenol much less for a day in the hospital. You could send a kid to a four year college, for a weeks worth of one stay in the hospital.
I never trust a person as far as I could throw them esp. a doctor. This is nothing against the few good ones out there but I was brought up in a household that swore up and down about docs all being quacks so I guess that has stuck with me growing up.
You get charged for every step you take in these hospitals and doctor's offices. To move from one waiting room to the next costs you money! You went from the welcome room to the waiting room to the patient waiting area and you got charged a fee for all 3 rooms! And don't mention pain pills you take in the hospital. They charge you PER PILL! If you weren't hurting in the hospital, you will be hurting when you get home and see the bill for all those pills you took!
